Cons: there was noise till late at night from the surrounding area since it's nearing independence day, but not too much. Cocktail was rather weak.

What a magical place! Villa Borobudur offers some of the finest hospitality we’ve seen anywhere. We were given an upgraded suite for two days and all was perfection: Stunning view... read more and surroundings, luxurious yet comfortable furnishings, incredibly caring and helpful staff, and wonderful food.
I think we expected the place to be a little stuffy and formal from the pictures, yet it was so relaxed, even as staff made sure every need was met. The pool was delightfully refreshing, water in the shower was always hot. Any time we needed anything, a courteous member of the staff was waiting to be called upon and happy to oblige. The service felt effortless despite all the work that so clearly goes into making sure each aspect of a guest’s stay is anticipated.
The Villa is close to Borobudur up in the mountains with a spectacular view. You can see the temple through the mist in the morning amidst the lush landscape in the surrounding valley. It was one of those experiences that will stay with us forever. There is truly nothing else like this place. More

From the pick-up at the airport until the drop-off at the airport we felt so relaxed because of the excellent care villa Borobudur has taken of us. During our stay we enjoyed the great authentic Javanese experience which Villa Borobudur offers: the staff, the food (with self-grown herbs & spices!), the interior & exterior, the on-site activities. Villa Borobudur has it all and delivers these experiences in an unforgettable manner. We have seldom been so excited about a hotel as we have been here and we highly recommend this unique place.

It is located in Borobudur's mountains, the view from the hotel is unbelievable, just breathtaking.
We stayed in a beautiful villa with swimming pool, private and quiet.
The service at the hotel is superb, first class, matching the level of the venue. The staff was warm but super professional.
If you want to stay at an unforgettable and special hotel, this is the one!

I really don't know how this place is still open. The view is amazing but thats about it. Booked for 4 nights but checked out after 1 night. Firstly you... read more need to drive through a village on a very rough road, then our driver could only take us so far as we had to change vehicles to go up a very steep road very inconvenient. We checked into a wooden hut type of room, no phone no tv no wifi, great if thats what your looking for. Also be prepared to be eaten alive by mozzies they r everywhere. Also no western food at all and must order 1hr before u eat or wait an hour after u order, very annoying after climbing the temple and come back hungry to be told food takes an hour to prepare. Again if your in to that type of stay its good but none of this was mentioned when booking online. Great view thats it.

The view is extraordinary, we can see the Borobudur temple very clear and the sunrise as well. The pool is very deep, so be careful with your children. The regulation is not strict, so you don't need to pay for extra pax. The food is tasty with low price. And the most calming and happiest are the really helpful staffs. They provide us with 2 private staffs that can help all of our needs, even to buy traditional food downtown. Maybe I have to say that this resort is much much better than Plataran and Aman Djiwo with comparable price or even slightly lower price. My suggestion is to choose Vila Merbabu or Villa Kayangan for best view. Villa Menoreh also offer a good view. But for guests who like indoor more, you chan choose Diponegoro Villa as it has...
